The zinc content in the brass, determines the corrosion resistance and thus reactivity in combination with oxygen. Additions of nickel and manganese have an advantageous effect on the corrosion resistance to the atmosphere and in waters.

On our skin there is always a protective film of sweat. In the skin sweat oils, lipids, fats and tallow and a fluctuating concentration of chloride-containing salts.
